Artwork's description: In this project we had to visualise the use of a new collection of recently developed lighting fixtures from the UnicOne series (Philips). At the time of the creation of the image, the new type of lighting fixtures where not being produced yet. Our client however needed images to start their marketing campaign. It is obvious that no real life application of the lighting fixtures could exist and therefore no photographs could be made at all. AniMotionS was asked to simulate the application of the UnicOne series in three different settings: an office-space, a hotel-lobby and a shop.

Software use:3d Studio Max, MR, PhotoShop

Technique use:After the initial design and basic camera setup a physical correct daylight system was added to the 3d-model. Several lighting studies (animated 24hour-cycles) were made to fine-tune the design of the indirect skylight in the office-space. All lighting fixtures were modelled and made into physical correct ‘luminaires’, i.e. a 3d-model of a light with embedded IES-information. These luminaires were then added into the scene to simulate the lighting study. More animated 24hour-cycles were made to check the design, the overall luminance and the brightness/exposure control of the camera.
