sss shader for a “i, robot” effect.

Hi,
I’m trying to have a result like this : “I, Robot”

I’ve seen on another forum post (by google), that the maker of the ns5 used the sss shader on mental ray for the texture of his robot.
I don’t know how to use sss shader ( I tried ).

Can someone guide me to obtain a 1st result?

NB : the attachement is a test with classic material and not by using sss shader...Very bad result. It breaks the modeling work.

are you trying the SSS shader from max? if so, try the one from ZAP, he made a shader which you can download at his page (google is ur friend) and he called it "self-explanatory" ... and the results were very very very very very very impressive, i haven't tried it yet though..
