plywood material

hi, do you know if can I make a plywood (parquet) in max or mental by some procedural materials (textures). That's mean only by procedural materials, I don't want use any bitmaps. I was trying with procedural wood material, but there weren't any settings to change shape of this material - maybe i was wrong looking, eh ;(

that is a difficult job to make a ploywood in a max or mental but the possiblity is existing.
